Secondary Objectives: * To demonstrate the superiority of once weekly injection of efpeglenatide in comparison to placebo on glycemic control. * To demonstrate the superiority of once weekly injection of efpeglenatide in comparison to placebo on body weight. * To evaluate the safety of once weekly injection of efpeglenatide.
